Duynweelde Texel is a luxurious, rural villa on the outskirts of Den Burg on the Wadden Island of Texel, where there's something to do all year round. The villa features six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and even a Finnish sauna and whirlpool. In the warmer months, relax on your private terrace with stunning views, in or around the ecological swimming pond, or in the relaxing garden. But even indoors, when the weather isn't so pleasant, it's cozy and inviting in the comfortable seating area around the crackling wood-burning stove or at the games table.

A list of optional extras is available upon request, such as bike rental (through Van der Linde bike rental company), barbecue rental (Green Egg), meat package, wellness set, coffee package, Texel beer package, or wine package.

On the ground floor, you'll find the cozy, spacious living room with a comfortable seating area and a wood-burning stove. There's a large, fully equipped open-plan kitchen, a large dining table for the whole group, and a separate games table in the living room. French doors open directly onto the spacious terrace with stunning views.

There's a hallway with a wardrobe and staircase, and access to the first bedroom with an ensuite bathroom suitable for disabled guests. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, each with two single beds, a TV, and a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. There's also a wellness bathroom with a Finnish sauna (sleeps 4-6) and a whirlpool. The final two bedrooms are located on the second floor, under a sloping roof, and also have their own bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. With a focus on the environment and nature, an ecological swimming pond, an Upfall water-saving shower system, energy self-sufficiency, and completely off-grid, Texels Landleven is a European first. This adds an extra dimension to your holiday.

Surroundings

From Den Burg, you can easily explore the rest of Texel. Cycle to the lighthouse, take a walk on the beach at De Koog, visit Ecomare, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the island. Den Burg itself is a charming village with cozy cafes and restaurants, fine restaurants and terraces, charming shops, and fun events in season.

Special Features

The house is accessible for people with disabilities. The ground floor is fully accessible for wheelchair users with extra-wide doors, no thresholds, an adapted bathroom, and a lowered countertop in the kitchen. The home care organization Omring on Texel can provide additional care, such as dialysis treatment, if you require assistive devices such as a stair lift or booster seat. The homes are also suitable for people with respiratory conditions.

Tips for exploring the area

- Texel is the largest Wadden Island in the Netherlands, with approximately 30km of beach. You can walk for hours through the dunes, forests, and numerous nature reserves. Texel is also a true cycling island; you can plan your own route using a cycling junction map.
- The nearest beach is approximately 7km away, between markers 9 and 12.
- Explore nature with a guide, for example on a birdwatching excursion, allowing you to reach places that are otherwise inaccessible.
- During a mudflat excursion, you'll learn all about life on the seabed.
