Picturesquely situated behind the dike lies the former fishing village of Kolhorn. This picturesque village is now a Nationally Protected Village View, and rightly so: fairytale gardens, lovely houses and beautiful views. There is certainly no lack of luxury and comfort in this bed & breakfast. The owners have stylishly renovated this farmhouse from 1906 so that you will not lack anything during your stay, near the Dutch coastline.

Layout Bed & Breakfast

De Kolhornse Parel is a mix of rural elegance and a touch of French charm. If you ask us, the perfect balance! The spacious guest house has its own entrance and upon entering you are immediately surprised by the playful layout. The intimate living room adjacent to the comfortable double room is perfect for a little nightcap. The modern bathroom has a rain shower, toilet and wonderful bath products from Marie-Stella-Maris. The surprise lies in the spacious garden room. Here you start the morning with a delicious fresh breakfast or in the evening you open the garden doors and while enjoying a good glass of wine you can read that last chapter under the chestnut tree.

Surroundings

Cyclists and hikers can indulge themselves here. Kolhorn is known as the ideal starting point or resting point for countless cycling and hiking routes. Less than a 10-minute drive away you are in the cozy market town of Schagen with its many restaurants and shops. Enjoy the sea air? Within driving distance of the B&B there are several fine sandy beaches, including Callantsoog, Petten and Hargen aan Zee. Anyone visiting Kolhorn in the summer should definitely not miss the three Night Markets. The two hundred and fifty market stalls are set up like a long ribbon through the entire village, which are illuminated like a fairytale when it gets dark. And do you want to experience how the fishermen of the past sailed across the former Zuiderzee? Then take a boat trip in the original Langedijker Rondkont.

De Tuynkamer

The Tuynkamer is an atmospheric space with a cozy breakfast nook where you can start the day fresh with a home-made breakfast. Adjacent to the Tuynkamer you have a coffee corner at your disposal. A Nespresso machine, kettle and fridge with freezer are present. Of course, there is also no lack of the necessary crockery, glassware and kitchen utensils.
De pantry van Chez Lindy is compact maar compleet en sluit met haar stijlvolle inrichting naadloos aan bij de sfeer van het Guesthouse. Alles wat je nodig hebt voor een ontspannen verblijf is binnen handbereik: 2-pits inductie kookplaat, combimagnetron, koelkast met vriezer, servies en glaswerk, koffie- en thee faciliteiten. Van een goede kop koffie of thee tot een klein ontbijt of een borrelmomentje: hier kun je lekker je eigen gang gaan.

⚓ Wat is er te doen in Kolhorn?

In Kolhorn draait het vooral om rust, historie en het water. Wandel door de karakteristieke straatjes en langs de Westfriese Omringdijk, ontdek de oude haven en bezoek Museum De Turfschuur, waar je meer leert over het vroegere Zuiderzeedorp. Ook zijn er mooie wandel- en fietsroutes door de omliggende polder. 

📍 Welke plaatsen kun je vanuit Kolhorn bezoeken?

Vanuit Kolhorn ontdek je gemakkelijk de mooiste plaatsen van Noord-Holland. Bezoek het gezellige Schagen voor winkels, restaurants en terrassen, of rijd richting de kust naar Callantsoog, Petten en Schoorl voor strand en duinen. Ook de historische steden Hoorn, Medemblik en Alkmaar zijn goed bereikbaar en leuk voor een dagje uit. Voor een grotere dagtrip kun je bovendien naar Enkhuizen, Bergen of Den Helder. Dankzij de centrale ligging van Kolhorn is er volop keuze tussen cultuur, kust, natuur en gezellige stadjes.

🌊 Hoe ver ligt het strand van Kolhorn?

Vanuit Kolhorn ben je in ongeveer 15 minuten met de auto aan de kust. Het strand van Callantsoog ligt op circa 14 kilometer en ook Petten is met ongeveer 16 kilometer dichtbij. Zo combineer je de rust en het historische karakter van Kolhorn gemakkelijk met een dagje strand, duinen en zee. Vanuit Kolhorn kun je bovendien mooie fietstochten richting de kust maken.

🚲 Kun je mooi fietsen in Kolhorn?

Ja, Kolhorn is een prachtige uitvalsbasis voor fietstochten door het karakteristieke Westfriese landschap. Vanuit het dorp fiets je direct de Westfriese Omringdijk op, langs groene polders, historische dorpjes en oude dijken. Maak bijvoorbeeld een ontspannen rondje via Winkel en Nieuwe Niedorp of fiets richting Schagen en verder naar de kust. Ook langere routes naar Hoorn en andere historische plaatsen behoren tot de mogelijkheden.
